CEO — Africa Digital Solutions
Djalil Assouma is an ICT and Telecoms expert with experience in digital transformation in the public and private sectors. He is in charge of overseeing the first stage of the Africa Single Digital Market designed by the Smart Africa Alliance, consisting in deploying interconnectivity amongst seven African countries in what is known as the “West African digital pool”.
Mr Assouma was previously CEO and Chairman of Benin Telecoms, the national telecommunication operator in Benin; in that position and as a member of the Presidential Digital Council, he played an instrumental role in the digital transformation of the country and deployed national high-speed broadband networks including 4G/LTE. He also lived and worked in Canada for large telecoms companies like MTS/Allstream and Telus Communications. Mr Assouma holds an MBA in Finance and Strategy from Concordia University, a Master of Science degree in mobile computing and a Bachelor's degree in telecommunications from Polytechnique Engineering School of Montreal (Canada).
